Facebook Announced Paper: A Curated Visual News Reader, Launching Feb. 3 for iOS

Facebook has announced Paper, their attempted to make a news app that will compete with Flipboard and Apple's own Newsstand service. The new app from Facebook provides a "full-screen" distraction-free layout.

The app will separate out your Facebook News Feed and then it will give users the chance to pick from curated themes such as, photography, food, science, sports, and many more.

Navigating through articles is done with a simple swipe. To view panoramic pictures Facebook will allow you to tilt your phone to view the entire picture. Videos will be defaulted to auto-play, hopefully there is a toggle for that.

Facebook Paper will be available for iOS as a free download on February 3.
