Over the past several years, Google has showed a lot of interest in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. After all, its mobile OS is named "Android." Re/code reports that the internet search giant is in the process of acquiring DeepMind Technologies for $400 million.
DeepMind combines machine learning and neuroscience to create "general-purpose learning algorithms." The startup's website is currently a placeholder page, an indication that the acquisition is true.
Google has not officially confirmed the reports.
