Apple Releases Environmental Report for New Mac Pro

Today Apple has released its environmental report for its new Mac Pro, which details big savings for power usage and raw materials.

The new Mac Pro uses 68% less power than the previous generation at only 43w while idle, compared to 133.7w. It also uses much less material, which is not surprising given the unit is much smaller. The devices uses 74% less aluminum, consumes 82% less volume when packaged and is 84% lighter than the previous generation. Apple says this lets them fit three times more units into one airline shipping container.
