Alleged Snapchat Security Breach Leaks 4.6 Million User Details

Just hours into 2013 and we already have a scandal on our hands. A security group has claimed that 4.6 million user's phone numbers and login details have been leaked and posted online.

Snapchat has ignored the potential issues pointed out by Gibson Security back in August. The leaks are now online and available to everyone. The last two digits of your phone number have been blurred out but it wouldn't take long for someone to figure it out.

Reports are suggesting only certain area codes have been affected, limited to the U.S. at this time. If you are a Snapchat user, you should be taking security precautions and changing your password. Snapchat has addressed the issue on their blog.
