Earlier this year, Apple announced "iOS in the Car" which allows users to connected their iOS device with their car, assuming the car model supports it. According to multiple reports, Google and Audi have partnered to create an Android-based in-car platform which is said to debut at CES in Las Vegas next week.

The software will allow both drivers and passengers to user Google services, like those available on Android smartphones and tablets today.

Audi has also struck a deal with NVIDIA, presumably to power the systems and that partnership will reportedly be revealed during CES.

We have yet to see a OS-based in-car system that has made a big impact on the automotive industry. Will it be Apple or Google or someone else?
